How we review and score

Two numbers, two jobs

Each operator carries two separate figures, and they are deliberately not the same thing.

The score (out of 10) — our editorial judgement, formed by researching the operator, entering their competitions, following their draws and testing their support. It is an opinion, built on evidence, and we show our working in every review.

The trust index (out of 100) — a calculation, not an opinion. It is computed from measurable facts: identity verification, a registered company on public record, completed draw history, speed from competition close to draw, and draw-date extensions we log. Nobody — including us — can nudge it by feel.

The five things we score

Value for money. What a ticket costs against what the prize is worth and how many tickets can be sold. Our value engine computes this per competition; the rating reflects the operator’s habits across their catalogue.

Competition variety. Range of prizes, ticket prices, entry caps and formats. An operator running the same car raffle on repeat scores lower than one with genuine breadth.

Draw transparency. How the winner is picked, whether draws happen live and on schedule, whether entry lists are published, and whether draw dates hold. Extensions are logged and cost trust points automatically.

Payouts & service. Do winners get their prizes promptly, are cash alternatives honoured, and does support answer? We weigh published winner evidence and independent customer reviews alongside our own tests.

Website & app experience. Buying a ticket, tracking your entries, finding the terms. If the free postal route is buried or the T&Cs are a scavenger hunt, it shows up here.

What the bands mean

9–10: exceptional, the standard-setters. 7–8.9: recommended, minor gripes. 5–6.9: fine with caveats — read the review before you spend. 3–4.9: significant concerns. Under 3: we would not spend our own money there.

Where our information comes from

Operator websites and their published terms; Companies House and the Irish CRO; published entry lists, draw videos and winner announcements; independent review platforms; and our own entries, tracked draws and support conversations. Reviews carry the date they were last updated, and we revisit them as operators change.

Independence, money and corrections

We are not owned by, run by, or affiliated with any competition operator. Some entry links on this site earn us a commission; commission never buys a score, a ranking position, a softer con list or a kinder verdict. Verified badges reflect completed identity and history checks, not payment.

If we have got a fact wrong, tell us and show us — we will check it and correct the page, with the correction noted. Operators are welcome to dispute a score; they will need evidence, not adjectives.

The legal bit

Prize competitions in the UK operate under the free-entry and skill exemptions of the Gambling Act 2005; they are not licensed gambling, and this site is not a gambling operator or advisor.
